The following email was received from the DFES Conference team today. If you attended the conference, please read carefully.
Dear fire and emergency service volunteers,
Please note that a DFES safety circular about the safe use of lithium-ion battery devices was published on Tuesday 19 September.
We wish to draw your attention to the circular, as the powerbank you were given at the WAFES conference uses a lithium-ion battery as its energy source, and we have had a report of an incident involving the device.
The safety circular is a reminder to follow the device’s safety guidelines.
If the lithium-ion battery or product casing is damaged in any way, do not use the device, isolate from flammable materials and dispose of the battery according to local government guidelines.
For full details please read the attached safety circular.
