It’s bloody awful when anyone has something stolen or damaged but when gutless thieves decide to target volunteers and volunteer brigades, it really gets our blood boiling.
Sadly, the Christmas period hasn’t been all joy and happiness for some of our invaluable members and their team mates.
A member of the Jandakot VBFB came back from a Santa run on Christmas morning to find their car window smashed and destroying the car’s glove box. Here is the post the Brigade put up on Facebook, hoping that someone passing by saw something suspicious and reports them to Crimestoppers (1800 333 000).
And the Bedfordale VBFB also had an encounter with a pathetic individual who decided to steal the outdoor power box that was lighting the Christmas lights brigade members and local residents had donated to spread the joy – although it seems this turkey wasn’t smart enough to realise there were security cameras watching. Let’s hope the morons involved are caught and they get a Magistrate who understands just how valuable our incredible volunteers are – not just in responding to disasters as they do 24/7, but also in building and maintaining the incredible sense of community we need today and into the future.
